Interior Room

I'm in the market for a 08'+ Focus and my only concern is fitting in the damn thing. I currently drive a 2000 SVT Contour 102 miles a day to work and back, fuel prices are starting to kill me - ~450 a month on fuel alone.

I barely fit into the SVT, the seat is all the way back and I'm almost at my limit when I run into stop and go traffic. I'm 6'2" and a big guy, not fat, just big.

I've test driven a 4 door and I'm wondering if the coupe is a little larger or not. There have got to be some big tall folks on here - how do you guys fit in these cars? I've had some troubles finding a coupe to test drive as everyone seems to buy them before I can get there!

I've doe the math and it's silly - it would actually cost my $10 a month less to buy a new car from the mileage increase alone... The torque of the 3L and my heavy foot and not friendly on my wallet...

Here is my car at Spring Zing 2008

I am 6'2" and skinny and fit pretty comfortably in my hatchback. I wish I could stretch sometimes, but its not bad at all.

I got a 2008 coupe. I really like the Focus. I'm 6'2" about 230lb. I had a guy ride shotgun who was about 6' and 300lbs and it wasn't very kind to him.

They are just out of my price range and don't get the mileage I need. I test drove an 08 coupe 5 speed and enjoyed it - I think I'm going to try and get one. My knee grazes the center fascia once in awhile, but I think I can do some modifications to get the seat to go further back. I'll weld something if I have to-

^^^ I agree with you on the mileage my wife has the 08 se sport package with a 2.3 and auto and she gets 26-28mpg. even on highway trips the best we have ever got is 28-29. My parents with the v-6 (2006) it gets 30-32 highway and about the same 26-28 in town, very disapointing to have less power and lower fuel economy. But its got lots of room compared to a focus.
