Wink Tanner foust drives a Ford Fiesta!

check this out, saw it on T.V, and looked it up cause I thought on T.V it looked like a Fiesta, or RS or something.

http://wotmagazine.com/tanner-fousts...very-revealed/

What you think? It has totally blew my mind that the Fiesta could look and handle like it was on T.V, he won the race I was watching where he was going up against a Subaru.

The problem is we don't actually get anything close to what Block and Foust get to play with. The only thing these Fiestas have in common with stock production versions is the frame/chassis, maybe the headlights/taillights, portions of the outside body panels, and the dashboard interior piece. That's it. The entire vehicle is gutted out and rebuilt from scratch with an AWD powertrain, 500+ horsepower engine (Ken has 650), wide body kit, exhaust, independent rear suspension... and the list goes on.

While it's nice to fantasize about the production model Focus/Fiesta as being a copy of their rally equivalent, you have to be a little realistic here. The Fiesta ST might push it further in that direction, but I very seriously doubt it'll be an AWD setup or anything close to even 200 hp. I'm sure it'll still be fun and something to get excited over though. We really need more hot hatches in this country and Ford has an opportunity to steal the segment away if they can balance the price and features specs right.

Right there buddy^, couldn't have said it better, and the fact of it is, I don't think we know enough about what the "stock" Fiesta's motor could handle in terms of performance on the head, pistons, and rods? When we know as much about the fiesta motor as we do the Zetec's, then I think I'd be a interested customer for one. Meaning though... DYNO sheets and test that have tooken the Fiesta block/rods/head/pistons to its breaking point.

Yep. You really can't call what Ken Block drives a "Fiesta", or even a "Ford" for that matter. The only possible common feature between what Ken drives and what we pick up on the lot is the frame (even that has probably been modified). It's like if I said because I own a 4-door Charger (which I don't), my daily driver is a NASCAR. The price difference between a Fiesta in our world, and a Fiesta in Ken's world, is like comparing a Smart car to a Veyron.

I'm not gonna lie, when I first bought my old Focus I was partially excited by its roots in rally racing too. I abused the hell out of it and did a few stupid things. I guess you could argue that the original mk1 Focus and the rally spec Focus falls in the same category of having a wide performance gap. Even the RS, SVT, and ST couldn't measure up to that.

Just about the only car you can get that comes remotely close to being rally spec is the STI and Evo, and even that's quite a stretch. The fact that it doesn't cost over $200k makes it quite a bargain though! With the money you'd be spending on insurance it might as well should though...

I am. But in this case specifically they are in fact AWD powertrains. Even if it's FWD or RWD I can assure you that it's not going to be stock.

Posted via FF Mobile Obviously, but what rally cars are? Dont say subaru and evo because they were not and still far from their street counterparts.
