Yea, nice car at $4.00 to $5.00 per gal. More power to you.

That's irrelevant. Obviously if in the market for 600+HP vehicle gas mileage isn't a concern..

I hope to see one of these around, I usually see all the mule cares living so close to Ford headquarters. Car should be a monster.. I hope they don't give it a solid rear axle though.

Been there, done that with cars like this over the years. If that's what you like and can afford that's OK. I sold a 69 Vette a year before I retired but at 10 mpg I could never drive it now. I think cars like this are fading out and maybe should be. Like I said, JMO. You do what you like.

Still, 14 mpg city and 22 hwy the 2011 GT500 isn't exactly a complete hog. My Chevy Blazer gets about half of that.

i heard the reason that they don't do independent rear suspensions for these things is
1: live axles are alot stronger

and

2: it would cost more to buy a gt500 or any mustang for that matter because of the cost to actual create the suspension
(so i've heard)

but it wouldn't matter to me, a mustang is a mustang. great sound, great performance, awesome pedigree. (owned a 94 cobra before the focus)

Mileage isn't everything. My 66 Mustang gets "Smiles per gallon". That's also the reason I have a Focus as my daily driver.

Werd. My 01 Sonoma (4.3L V6) gets 12-13mpg in the winter and maybe 15 in the summer. The 03 F250 X-cab long box gets 11.4 mpg. So much for a small pickup. :/
