Evo X to be the last evo

http://www.autocar.co.uk/blogs/autoc...s-no-more.aspx

I would try to care, but i never really cared for the Evo. Interesting that they would call it quites for the car tho, i thought they sold well.

Mitsubishi officially sells 0 cool cars now.

"It seems Mitsubishi, which is going to introduce eight full electric or hybrid cars by 2015, has decided its image is about lowering CO2, not making lurid replicas of rally cars that don’t go top-level rallying any more."

What is the Japanese word for ignorant dolt?
I don't have an evo, but I have driven them and they are fantastic. I am suprised that mitsubishi's long slide into obscurity with the neutering of the eclipse will be finalized with them dropping the evo because of CO2 emissions. Please Ford, please, don't believe this moron and keep the ST, and hopefully and RS in our market.

And there goes the last of my interest in that make.

Used to like the old eclipse's (non F&F molested), and the Evo's.. and neither of the cars are being made now (that aren't terrible)... oh well..

Epic fail. If they manage to financially survive this terrible decision, I predict that they'll come crawling back with a surprise "THE EVO IS BACK!!!" campaign to try to win their customers back. But by then I think most previous customers would've had enough of their BS. It's a shame because from what I can tell most critics seem to agree that the EVO spanks the hell out of the STI in virtually all track tests. I imagine that the biggest reason most people choose Subie over it is due to affordability.

I'd add, a better dealer body too. Not that many mitsbishi dealers? huh? And what else do they offer? As far who would by a Galanant, now a days?

Mitsubishi's quality is garbage. I was talking to one of my co-workers who used to work quality at a Mitsubishi plant and he was telling me how they would use shoddy materials on some parts knowing that they would fail. The EVO however was their last saving grace. It truly did spank the hell out of the STI in comparison tests, but you did pay a little more money for it. Ford just needs to replace the niche market with an AWD ST or RS in the states!

You just reminded me of this article, where an Evo X owner's gas pedal broke off. Check out the other goodies (like auto-disassembling seats) in the comments below. Hahah...

On a side note more cars need to have floor-mounted gas pedals. It's one of many features I love about my car.

It wouldnt surprise me at all if more (or every) automaker(s) use shoddy materials. I think they have cars in secret that last for millions and millions of miles, they just would never release it to the public. How would they get business if no one ever had to buy a new car ever again? Its all about $$$$$
