Driving Schools

I'm personally interested in attending driving schools. I want to learn track racing as well as quite possibly autocross. However, I haven't been able to find any classes in my area. There is however a 'Street Survival' class in KC (about 2-3 hours from where I live) that is in easy driving distance. The class is $75. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I'm personally just looking to improve my driving ability in any way possible and for $75, this seems like a good deal. I'm 18 and while I consider myself a better driver than most of my peers, I definitely have room to improve in daily driving. I don't know where I stand track/auto-X wise.

Here are some of the links.

Street Survival Website

Thanks for the help guys, I appreciate it.

Is it recommended to just show up on a Solo day as a competitor? I'm not sure I'm ready for that unless that is what is recommended to do.

Everyone is welcome to go out to events. Usually the people that run the events are very helpful in showing the "noobs" the ins and outs.

Agreed, definitely just head out to an event... even if it's just for a ride along. That got me hooked.

They may also offer to drive your car for you or ride along with you and tell you what to do and it's definitely a good experience.

The closest Solo event is in Nebraska in May, unfortunately...

It's a bummer you're far because Mid-Ohio offers tons of driving schools from basic to full track days. They are sorta expensive though, $300+ and some around $600+.
