Older focus vs. newer focus legroom

Hi, new here.......I'm in the market for a focus.
I'm tall, six five, I had tried on an 07 sedan and liked it
but wanted a wagon. found a 02 wagon about 2 hrs drive from me
that was in great shape. Got there and there wasn't anywhere near
the legroom......in fact it was downright uncomfortable for me.
I then tried an 08 and the salesman claimed they were remodled in 08
and i would need to look for an 08 or newer.
I'm on a somewhat tight budget and was hoping for an older one, I don't need a wagon. I did alot of searching and found legroom listed as more for the older models but someone mentioned seat brackets may go back farther on newer ones? I'm at a loss.........Reason I'm asking is there's not alot of focus's in my area and most are a drive. I'd like to know what years etc.... i need to possible look for? what are the differences for those of you who know? This looks like a great forum and i hope to be able to get a focus and hang out here.

thanks,
rad

its going to be within tenths of inches because they all ride on the same platform and the interiors are packaged about the same. dont expect a huge difference between an 07 and an 08. FYI 08's ditched the telescopic steering wheel which comes in handy for taller drivers

My 00 wagon has good amount off room up front, my pops is 6,7 and he just about fits in there, but the back seat is not a option for a bigger guy, I'm 5,3 and 165 and I think the back in uncomfortable when the front seats are too far back.

But that's is why when I drive people behind me are lucky, they have plenty of leg room.

But even in my girls 03 zx3 the back seat is tight, but the front seat is almost comfortable enough for pops. He said he would not drive either cause there too small for him. He would if he had to or even take a ride in the passenger one, cause it has more room, but other then that if he doesn't have to, he won't.

hey, welcome to the site.

im 6 foot. not quite as tall obviously but ive got an 06 sedan and theres tons of leg room for me with the seat all the way back. i usually have the seat cranked all the way up too bc my 5 foot girlfriend also drive my car. but when the seat is cranked down i sit a lot lower and have much much more room. i also have tilt steering and that helps a lot.

i guess my tip for you too look for the up and down adjustment on the seat. it might help compensate for that extra 5 inches.
im not sure if the older or newer focus's (foci ?) have it but i guess they do on the 05-07 models at least.

anyway i hope that helps

Andrew
