Looking for a new car...

I'm looking to purchase a used family car, nothing to sporty but not a granny wagon either. I need a 4 door, b/c I have a 3 year old. I have been looking around, open to any makes, just seeing what you guys think. Would like to stay in the 10-12 thousand dollar range. And it will have to be an auto.

What size car are you looking for, like a four door Focus or something larger like the Fusion/Camry/Accord sized? What kind of miles, how old of a car and any other requirements?

as long as the back seat is big enough for a my little girl, she fits in the back of my focus now, but its just a pain were its a two door. miles..id like to be under 50k. somewhere around 2004-up.

Anyone have any information about a Pontiac Vibe GT, as I found a couple in my price range?

first things that come to mind are fusion mazda 6 maybe a jetta, or suzuki kizashi. my sister had a matrix wihich is the same thing as the vibe (im not sure if the vibe gt has a different engine my sisters matrix was the awd xr i think) it was a good car for them. they had some issues with ball joints/ suspension stuff but she drove a lot for work so it has a crap load of miles, its still goin now and i havent heard of anymore problems lately. i do know she said it was kind of expensive to fix being a toyota for her.

You've got a fair number of choices in that price range. The Vibe/matrix is a good utilitarian car-- we had an '05 and I just traded an '09 for my Fusion. The Vibe/Matrix are bargains now. The newer Vibe/matrix comes with a 1.8 (corolla) engine or a 2.4 liter engine. Both are very economical but the 1.8 excels. I used to get 26-28 city and up to 34 hiway-- calculated. The newer model has a bad blind spot because of the new body style and mine rode rough. I'd find a low mileage or well taken care of '05-08 or model.

You could probably find a good '06-07 Fusion/MIlan for that price or go with the Mazda3. The newer Sentra is a pretty nice car and Jettas are always fun.

Posted via FF MobileMy `04 ZTS 4dr sedan was a "mommy car" B4 I got it (toys & juice box spills under everything in back) even though it had a stick.... Something like that would be WELL in the price range... Save some dough.... O have something you are familiar with! Duratec 2.4 PZEV is no slouch either, and no issues....

Look for a fusion/milan or a mazda 6 . They are way better cars than the vibe/matrix and if you lucky you might find the awd one in the price range.
