can someone identify this shifter

went to the junkyard and found an svt and it looked like it had a sts so i took it....never seen one for these cars so dont know what they look like, so i go to put it on my svt and its the wrong one so im assuming the car in the junkyard either had a 5spd swap or someone did a really great job at converting to an svt (engine/tranny was gone so didnt see what was there) so my question is: is this a sts or a stock shifter and what does it fit

The stock shifter has a black, nylon coated ball on it (inside the grease boot). The length looks almost stock'ish to me, but hard to say. Not sure if any other shifters had the black nylon coating on the ball.

I think the light in the pictures just makes it look like the ball is black, but it's not. If you look at the link in my post above, it's the exact same shifter, from the grooves on the shaft to the threads at the top.

Looks like the one in OP's pick has been repaired at some point though. Welded below the ball.
