Thinking about getting a WRX

Soooo I've been looking at getting a newer car since I've finally found a job after graduating recently and a WRX has been on my radar for a while now. I've always wanted a 350Z but in Michigan it just isnt practical. Besides I wouldnt be able to haul my bike or board around.

Cruising around craigslist I came across this guy...

http://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/cto/2129450505.html

Now the "rebuilt title" was the first thing that caught my attention. He tells me it was just slight rear end damage, with no frame issues, but who knows really. But I bought my SVT with a rebuilt title and got an awesome car at an awesome deal, 0 problems except for a crappy paint job on the hood and front fascia. Anyway, before I even go look at it I've asked the guy for the VIN so I can do a carfax. Then I might take a trip to test drive it some time this weekend.

Anyway I'm waiting on verification e-mail to clubwrx.net so I was wondering if you guys had any advice for me....I know I'm selling out but I want AWD and turbo so bad!!! haha

What do you guys think?

That's a really nice looking car, but go with the new evo if it's in the budget. Especially if you want something good in snow and off road capabilities. Ever seen the episode on Top Gear of the evo?

AWD?
Turbo?

**and**

American?

You can pick two of those, but you can't have all three.

dude dont give me that buy American BS! I work for an automotive supplier and guess what, 40% of our business is to Honda, BMW, Mercedes, etc! I'm a ford guy and always will be, but I'm gonna buy what suits my needs. Until Ford comes out with a car I want then sorry not gonna buy a car that I dont want just because its made in America. And technically when I say America that also includes Mexico! If the ST were out right now I would be all over it, but its not...enough of this subject, I just want some decent input about this car...

It's a WRX. Nuff said. +Fun turbo AWD... -Quirky interior. Reliability SHOULD be good. Make him a cash offer to knock down the price, make a deal, and drive that baby home!

Name one American car that is built only in America, using locally manufactured parts. Now find Me a Japanese car that is built only in Japan, using locally manufactured parts? Ever heard of a World Economy, before?

By the way, Your SVT was hecho en Mexico.

@the OPIf I lived in a place that saw more than a few measly inches of snow a year, I would be all over a WRX.

another good Subaru site is NASIOC.com

I'm kicking around the idea of a new WRX when it comes time to replace my ZX3 in a while, I hear they're good cars that have a tendency to get ridden hard and not cared for well. I'd def see what sort of maintenance records the guys has access too. Is he the orig owner?

Not for me either, too many people have them now, and around here they all do that under the axle set-up and all sound the same. One guy in my whole surroundings had a huge blow off valve and his exhaust sounded way more diesel then most.
