Arrow Tach install HELP!!

I recently bought a small tach, since my focus dosn't have one. Apperently, the tach I bought dosnt work with the focus, But I can buy an $85 dollar adaptor to make it work. One of my friends said I dont need the adaptor, I just splice one of the wires to another, but I forgot which one.... does anyone know?

You have to buy the adaptor, I got mine for 53 bucks, its a ford racing part, I'm sure steeda or anyone like that carrys them. The focus has no tach drive signal, just a high voltage signal, even coming directly out of the crank trigger, its just a small (2" by 3") plastic electronic box that you wire into the crank trigger wires. no big deal really , just a few more wires. Then your tach will work fine, although the box will throw a v-8 signal like a mustang, so on your tach switch it to 8 cyl. and it will read just fine.!
The part # is 161-m-17361-a200, cost 52.00 from steeda or whomever you like to deal with,
Speed is only a matter of money; how fast do you want to go?
