ABS yes for sure! i know a lot of people say "i can pump my own brakes... blah blah blah" but ill be man enough to admit in the event of a panic stop im not thinking about pumping brakes, im thinking about going around the object that has had a sudden speed drop, lol. so ABS takes away one thing i would have to worry about.
My car doesnt have stability control and i cant say that i miss it. its a FWD car... really???
My car does have traction control but it allows a lot of wheel spin before it steps in and starts "controlling." its like its not even there, lol.

ABS yes, last year I almost ran the 03 zx3 straight into a curb but the ABS helped to stop the car in the snow. But I also know how to pump the brake, My pops 89 Chevy 1500 didn't have ABS or anything, and one rainy night I started to slip towards the back of a van in the road that stopped quickly, I pumped the brakes and stopped like a few inches from his bumper, this was the first day I had my license and was let loose to go out. I did not tell pops. lol

But yes ABS is very good too, I like it any day over having to pump the brake and stop it myself. More reliable.

The TCS in '05 ST is nothing but a nuisance. I manually turn it off with the button EVERY TIME I get in the car. Are you kidding me? The LAST thing I want is the engine cutting out just because I'm getting a little wheel slippage going up a snow-covered hill.

Glad to have ABS, though.

My old '02 ZX3 without ABS actually stopped shorter in snow than my Rabbit does. But my Rabbit feels more stable/confident in snow at speed with traction control. Although ABS helps give you directional control, unfortunately it also increases stopping distance on certain surfaces (like gravel or snow). Here's a link explaining why.

Has ABS saved my ass a few times? Definitely. I remember two instances where I had to swerve out of the way at the last second. HOWEVER I've also had my share of close calls where despite traveling VERY slowly (about 5 mph) and braking very early at an icy intersection... my car's ABS kicked into retard mode and I skidded waaaaaaay more than I should have. Half my car ended up poking out of the intersection, so I had to run the stop sign and say f' it! So yeah, it has its tradeoffs. :-/
