Don't see many rental foci here in Seattle; mostly Cobalts and Hyundai Accents/Elantras in that class.

Among the many privately-owned '08+ models, there are few S trim foci and tons of SEs, by far the majority. SES trim foci (like mine) are reasonably abundant, but I don't see very many SELs. Coupes vs sedans I'd guesstimate at maybe 30% to 70%.

Oh, with regard to the OP's question: Sure, I remember the Vega. Heck, I remember when the '57 Chevy Bel-Air was being sold new in the showrooms.

I manage an enterprise branch, out of 273 cars we have 17 last time I checked. Wish i had more in my fleet mix, but in that car class we have at least 25 calibers and 30 cobalts. Ugh.

From what I've noticed alamo has a bit better optioned cars in their fleet.....no offense of course :) Like I was put in a rental when my truck was in the shop years ago and I was able to get my hands on a fully loaded impala ltz with bose leather and heated seats amongst other things. also had the big engine too which is a 3.9 :)

The rental companies buy whatever they get a deal on. Yesterday I got 5 brand new jeep liberty limiteds. Leather, full sunroof, nav, heated seats, sat radio.... everything. Last week two brand new tahoes loaded to the T and a suburban the same way. Heck, even half of our focuses are SES models with heated leather, sunroof, etc. It just depends on what they get a deal on, whichever company it is.

I see a few Focus rentals around Chicago-O'Hare airport, but not as many as GM, Toyota, Hyundai cars. Traveling business people seem to get small SUV's like Forester or bigger mid size cars, like Impala or Sonata.

Also, rental Focuses are likely not the plain S. Companies buy in bulk and want better resale than cars with manual windows and hubcaps.

Around here there are quite a few Foci, along with Fusions,Hyundai Sonatas,Accents and Kia Rios and Optimas. And of course,Nissans galore(mostly Altimas and Sentras). I remember the Vega and its cousins, the Pontiac Astre,Oldsmobile Starfire,Buick Skylark and later Chevrolet Monza(which had better reliability than the Vega did).

In CT, I see a lot of old people drive the sedans. Which in my case makes it cooler, cause I take a car kids thought where for old people and show them all what a fofo can do, and what it can look like when you put some TLC into them.

But as far as rental car goes, no mostly colbalts and dodges. I am just beginning to see some places have fofo's as rental cars.

lol this past summer I rented a Pontiac G5 or similar (as rental companies do) wound up with an '09 Focus SE. Drove from Ohio to South Carolina/Georgia. Nice to beat on a Rental car and rack up the miles on someone else's car

As soon as they gave me the key (before they told me what it was) I was like, oh getting a focus huh? Had to clean the inside out a bit, since I was going to be using it for the next week but other than that, no real complaints.
