Does this seem stupid or am I weird?

Ok I have to admit I want to modify my 4 DR so badly but, I keep getting this feeling of dread . It feels as if Im afraid to put money into it as I drive it every Day. Id love to go forged pistons and rods with n20 but it just doesnt seem possible with it being a daily. I have a FRPP I could put on but i just dont know.I guess I want to find out if anyone has the dread of modding due to the car being a daily?

I mean if you are going to modify it a lot and not expect to pay for it more and more as time goes on, you should be filled with dread. It's a can-o-worms type of situation. Keep it simple or be prepared to pay a bunch.

Can I just say, I love your signature.

But I know what you mean. I'd love to dump some money in my Focus, but since I'm planning on moving into a new apartment, on top of saving up for the 2012 ST, it just doesn't feel like it's worth it.

Weekend modding as mentioned before Jacob. Or you could just buy a cheap piece of shit car and drive it around while you work on this one. If you do the work right, the car should be just as reliable as it was before. I mean what you are going to do is essentially rebuild parts of the motor making them stronger and giving new life to the motor as well. Just make sure you do everything right the first time and don't have to go back to deal with gremlins that sneak up on you.

dude...seriously
the OP wants to modify his car but he is having some reservation about it..leave him alone about it..its his car and his money

Now to the OP... just take your time and research it...
FRPP kit is a safe and good mod to do... alot of people have it and its been a good investment.
The engine mods...as long as you have a good strong engine...dont worry about....

good luck and if you need help...dont hesitate to ask

now if you're talking turbo this and forged that...... for a daily driver, something you do just that in, it sure may be cool (boost is quite a bit of fun) you can't afford the down time if you have no other transportation.

However if you're just looking at exhaust/tune/suspension etc...... you shouldn't worry (with the header maybe, but that's an emissions concern). At worst you'll be down a day or two if you break something stupid while putting another part on. nothing like a few weeks building a motor if you're ordering parts and all.

at least that was my input on it.

Well I had the thought of buying a JY block and building it from the ground up and then just be down a day or 2 for a swap. .
Mike- I can run a header and everything because their are no emissions test where I live
