Popping the hood

Is it possible to pop the hood from the outside without pulling the latch inside on my 09 Focus?

Technically no. You could get creative with a prybar and screwdriver but I can't guarantee the health of your bodywork and paint...

Not nowadays. On a 65 Mustang yes, but not any new cars.

Oh c'mon. Really? Your not even going to shed a little light on why exactly you would need to do this?

Just in case that one day the system decides to malfunction.
I have a Burgman 650 and the trunk latch cable breaking is an issue some people have to deal with and there needs to be a way to open it afterwards. Coat hanger fixes that one.

I suppose I could do the preventative thing used on the bike on the car too. put in like an emergency pull thing like the one in the trunk

Thats interesting. I never thought about what you'd do if the cable broke. Luckily I have yet to have to figure it out.

I didn't care either til a week or two ago my friend with his burgman told me that his cable snapped and needed help opening it.

Shortly after I put an extra release cable in
Now I'm paranoid about all other cables that do something similar lol

You drive it to a body shop and a tech will open it for you in about 30 seconds. As long as you don't mind paying for a new grill, a new hood, a new hood latch, a new.........
