Car Shopping

I've been driving a 1996 Chrysler Concorde for about 8 years now. Long story short I was about 10 yards from the parking lot at work when my engine started to die so I didn't come to a complete stop at a stop sign and a cop pulled in behind me at work. Then I found out my license was suspended and I got arrested. So now I have about $2000 (All my savings) in fines and my car is broken down. (Very low compression in one piston, missing, shakes like crazy, etc.)

I have $2000 cash that my grandmother gave me to get a car. Tell me what you guys think of the following:

-147,000 Miles
-Says there are no mechanical issues that he knows of. I'll have my mechanic/father test drive it first
-Needs a windshield
-Needs tires soon
-Needs a radio (Don't care. I have plenty of audio gear.)

I figure I can use the money I'll have left over for the windshield and tires. Then I can sell my car plus save up a few hundred more and then have it painted.

Thanks in advance for your help,

at least its a focus, but i would take a very good look at the drivetrain, etc. he said it himself, he was gonna street rod it, i'd bet it has already been abused. but when youre only dropping 1,500 on a car there will be many things youll have to accept. if it checks out ok, welcome to the club.
