And you thought the PT Cruiser was ugly...

Check out this design study, called the GT Cruiser Coupe - YUCK! Only good parts: it has the SRT-4 turbo engine and a 900-watt sound system. Believe it or not, those are supposed to be 19-inch wheels?!

The problem here is that the designers thought "could we" instead of "should we".

I think it would look cool if it was lowered and on 17's.

Here's another view, courtesy of Autoweek (where this info came from). I guess these are the 19's the article speaks of. And, yes, this is an "artist's conception" not an actual car. Doesn't look as funky from this angle, but I'm still not digging it.

so that's what it would look like if a PT cruiser f***ed a Crossfire. great. they front end needs to be seriously revamped, and it needs to be either a little shorter or a little longer.

Actually it's not bad except for it sits too high, the rims are uhhgly and something about the back end does not look right. I had a PT cruiser and I liked the retro look it had, but I didn't like the crappy a/c, the lack of power, and the insane price, that is what I traded when I got my SVT. The SRT-4 engine, ****, somebody better sc the SVT and soon.

Despite the title of this thread, I do actually kind of like the look of the PT Cruiser. I just know that there are a lot of people out there who DON'T, which is why I chose that title. That said, I must say this GT Coupe is a variation on the theme that still needs some work...

Off-topic, but it's kinda funny - my sister had a friend who refused to take driving lessons through my school cause we have Neons and they suck; but, he was perfectly willing to go to another school that has a PT Cruiser cause they're cool. Ironically, of course the PT Cruiser is heavily based on the Neon - if you package it right, you can sell crap to anyone. As you apparently found out, jollyjohnj.

Hell I'd like to have a PT Cruiser ( Preparing to get flamed) but I'd slam it on 18" rims, throw on a paint job of Deep Black Cherry, and suicide door it. Like an old Lincoln Continental. That would be schweet as hell!...but all of that is IMO.
