Mid-Atlantic Snow Storm

Over the last 36 hours, the mid-atlantic has been blanketed in at least 2ft of snow. Some places have seen upwards of 3ft. Here in Laurel, Maryland it's been at least 2ft and it's still snowing. The wife and I got out a bit ago and kicked about, here's some pics:

My Focus. lol

If anyone else is caught in this, post up your pics.

I'm born and raised in Mississippi, I'm just stationed here in Maryland for a little over a year now, this is the most snow I've ever seen in my life! lol As a matter of fact, last winter was the first time I'd ever seen snow in person.

Speaking as a weather geek, that is absolutely awesome. We got a few inches of snow and a ton of rain down here.

Being from Minnesota that's pretty normal, but I also like snow. Looks like a good time.

Yup great pics. Its surprising to see the mid atlantic get so much snow. We were supposed to get snow up here in the NYC/Long Island area, 3-6 inches, but we didn't even get an inch. Crazy because less then 100 miles south of here theres a foot or more.

Well, was scheduled to go to work today. Went outside at 6am to start clearing the car and find this:

The Fiance's Jetta and my Focus.

Shoveled the sidewalk and stood next to a patch of untouched snow to show how deep it was. I'm 5'8" and it was to my knee and piled deep around and ontop of the car.

One of my gloves for depth reference.

Get a path cleared around the car by 8am. Great.

Go inside to call my boss and ask him what the schedule for today is.... aaaaaaand the plows come by. SCREWED! Whole car in a snow drift again. Tell the boss I'll be in when I can. By 11am I'd been plowed in 3 more times. Here's when I finally started to make some headway and had the back dug out. The whole car was in a drift like this.

Finally free! At work at 12:30, lol. When all was said and done we got about 20 inches in the Harrisburg, PA area.

Nice pics Slip! I feel your pain with the plows, in our apartment parking lot they seem to do more harm than good.
