Honestly how do you like your Focus?

Got a guy selling a 07 SE Focus Coupe (16k miles) and a 06 ZX4 (31k miles) they are salvage titles that had finder damage. I own a Ford explorer and want to sell it to get a focus. All i need to know is...honestly how do you guys like your focus? cant you explain anything about these modles? Pros..cons. In general, can i trust the focus for many miles or just a lil over 100k?

This is a Focus forum....most people are going to honestly like the Focus.

That being said, I think if you look around you can get a good sense of what's good and bad about them.

either of those will have a Duratec, which is a reliable motor. There are plenty of Focus here creeping up on 200,000 and a few crazy record breakers doing lot more than that. As far as liking... The Focus is economical on gas, spacious for it's size, fun to drive, cheap to fix, and reliable with proper maintenance. What's not to like?

Mostly true but some may say "watch out for..." or "there good but..." Im totaly new to the focus but not ford and am looking for ideas on the motor size being too small or not reliable.... I am after all use to a 4.0 but am willing to switch for reliablilty

I'd be worried about both being selvage titles. But what do you want out of the car? What are you priorities in buying one? MPG's? Fun? Performance? There are lots of different kinds of Foci and certain ones will fit different categories.

All of the focus engines are reliable, but the majority of the engines at that mark are the Zetec's...including mine which is at 172,xxx.

Really, all of the Focus motors are reliable. The SPI motor has some problems, but neither it nor the Zetec are available in the years you're looking at.
There are two Duratecs available. A 2.0 and a 2.3 liter.

Ok soo it sounds like Duratec is what ill be looking at as much as iv gathered here. I belive the the 2.0 is the motor they have. So i heard having fun and preformance....my priorities are as follows. Relibility, mpg, visual appeal, space, preformance. Im 24 and been hot rodding and trucking since 15. Im shifting my vaules more toward cheaper reliable operations that dont make me look too funny or girly in doing it...the focus seems to be the answer...just polling to know for sure.
