Focus Value?

1st off let me say that I'm not 100% sure this is the proper place for this thread so if you've gotta move it mods go for it, no hard feelings!

Now, on to business...

I'm considering selling my Focus, but I'm not sure what to ask for it. I've looked around my area and prices swing pretty wide. I'll give some info on the car and what I'm thinking about asking and maybe I could get some feedback from you fine folks as to wether or not you'd pay that for my car!

Location: Philadelphia Suburbs

The Good:
-CD Silver
-'04 5spd 2.0L ZETEC.
-113k miles
-Mobil 1 Synthetic Oil since 3k miles, changed every 7.5k miles
-Aftermarket Panasonic HU with upgraded front speakers as well as a single 12" sub in trunk.
-Front Strut Tower Brace
-SSK
-Nearly Flawless Interior, no rips, holes, stains, non-smoker car.
-SVT Pedals
-SVT Euro Wheels + 15" steelies with Snow Tires
-Water Pump changed at 90k miles
-Nearly all service records (missing a few oil change receipts)
-Excellent Paint in all areas EXCEPT rear-bumper (will cover this later)
-just replaced from wheel bearings

The Bad:
- Biggest "bad" is car has had 2 accidents. Neither of which were anything but superficial damage (no engine, tranny, or frame damage just cosmetic). Repairs were done at reputable shops and all documentation is on hand.
- Car has almost NO options. Only "option" it has is AC. Manual windows, doors, no fogs, no intermittent rear wiper
- Rear bumper's clear coat peeling/flaking away. Paint is fine underneath, but the clear coat is coming off
- Has the "wiper issue", this I may correct before selling, depends on how ambitious I become
- SVT Euro wheels have rash and will need new rubber

Misc:
- I have a spare lower grill with fogs, just never installed it, will come with car.

All that being said I was thinking of asking $3800 for it. I feel that's on the higher end of the scale but you know what they say, start high and be willing to work down.

Let me know what you think fellas. Any info I missed out on? Anything I should rethink?

As always,
Thanks!

Well if you have ALL papers and they are OK, I would say price is good.
But I'm from europe so I'm not too much familiar with USA prices.

focus sucks for resale value
i still owe almost 6k on loan and dealer wholesale value is only 3k :(

3800 seems very reasonable to me. I was thinking you were low but I ran KBB and you're spot on. I really want to know why there are no focus near that price around here. Here a '00 SE sedan is a 5K car, I don't get it.

ive come to the conclution that the focus is a rip off if you buy it new like i did. by the time i pay my car off( 5 year loan) it will blue book at around 3 thou. it sucks, so ive decided that im just going to pay it off and keep it forever, lol. besides my 9 year old son helped me pick the car out and i think its only fair that i let him have it when he gets his drivers license. by that time it should be a very fun car to drive with all the work ive put into her.

They do depreciate slightly severely, some of the well equipped model are holding there value respectably.

i think that the price is fine, you could start at 4 k so you get a little bit more... and you giving the 2 sets of wheels too?

Yeah both sets of wheels would be included. The snows are in good shape probably half their life left, it's the summer rubber that needs to be replaced.

Thanks for the input everyone!

i bought my focus last week. had 104k mi. power windows, locks, sunroof. conventional oil every 3k mi. couple aftermarket stuff, header, cat back, no fogs, but there are holes where some should be. couple of hail dents and minor scratches, the hood was painted black, dif from the rest of the car. one key though. interior, a little staining in the front seats, no spare, clutch shifts like butter! and i paid $2,ooo cash. and they were selling for 3k, heres the link if it still works. http://norfolk.craigslist.org/cto/1542928005.html

just to give you an idea. if the person had cash money, $100 bills. take it. maybe a little more for the extra tires, maybe no less than $2500
