new motor

ok guys, so ive determined my car has excessive piston slap and it doesnt go away when warm. its loud and getting louder the more i drive. i only drive to and from work with it now, but i know a new engine is the answer. i dont have enough time off to rebuild the one i have with oversized pistons. SO, ive found a 2.0 dtec at a salvage yard with get this.....24,000 miles on it. with a 6 month warrenty on the motor for 950.00. kinda steep but its piece of mind that ill have almost a new motor. im sure if im buying the motor i can tell them to throw in the cluster with the milage for free. at you pull and pay in orlando i can get a motor for 250$ with a 30 day warrenty but the odds of them having a 2.0 dtec is unlikely. any ideas on what to do?? i think ill end up keeping the motor i have now and build it slowly, unless someone local would like to take it off my hands.

i would love to do a swap, but i dont have a big budget and time is something i dont have. itd have to be done in a weekend (no problem with the same motor going back in) the plan eventually is to have a doner ranger with a v6 to make the focus rwd. but thats not what im looking at now. just a stock replacement.

950$ for low mileage, guaranteed engine, with electronics package sounds reasonable to me.

$950 does sound like a good deal, have you checked on a crate engines cost?
