Lemon Law

ok this has nothing to do with a focus but i need some info on the lemon law. Alright my dad has a 03 f-250 with the 7.3L diesel it has been in the shop 3 weeks thurday. How does the lemon law work? how long does it have to be?thanks

It varies from state to state. Usually the car has to have been repaired X number of times within the first year to be considered a lemon. if it is prooven to be a lemon then Ford has to buy the car back from you.

That is what I understand about the law. If it is proven defective from being in the shop to many times then the dealership, or the place that you bought it from, has to buy the car back from you. You will have to check the local law.

Since it is new, he should have gotten a booklet with all those "new car papers" and such that tells you the lemon laws in each state.

If I remember correctly the vehicle must be taken in for the sme problem 3 times in one year for the lemon law to be enacted. If there are factory recalls on the items in question, the lemon law becomes inactive because the manufacturer acknowledges that there is a problem and has developed a program to correct the problem.
