BMW myth or Fact?

I have heard that a 2002 ford Focus zts stock will out handle a comparable bmw 3 series. Has anyone ever heard of this?

i seriously doubt that. every bmw m3 since the e30 motor have been great handling cars, except for the new e92 m3, becuz that mofo weighs like 4000 lbs.

i been checkin out older e36 beamers. so nice, and under $10,000 now...

That sounds like a load of sweet smelling Ford-centric BS. No way.

doubt it.
just look at the auto-x classing system. if they were = handling, theyd be in the same class.
a ZTS is H stock
the lowest BMW i know of is G stock with most in D stock

the svt should

Edmunds quote:

"The SVT blasted through our 600-foot slalom at 68.2 mph. Not only was it faster than the Civic and New Beetle, its slalom speed was higher than that of cars like the Chevy Corvette Z06, BMW M3 and Subaru Impreza WRX."

and here is the article:

but that was back in 2002...

I am going to have to say no way. BMW's are designed with a 50/50 weight, also there RWD which will create oversteer like a mofo. so no the focus will not out handle a BMW.

My brother knows one of the many guys who helped create the svtfocus and he said the idea was to make it handle as good a or better than the bmw. He also told me alot of the plastics and designs were taken from bmws(if you look at the grill its the same pattern type deal)
