I am honestly shocked at the tech. in this car!

After skimming thru the owners manual as well as the Haynes repair manual I got, I was suprised at how much technology has been integrated into this car!

When I decided on the focus months ago, i thought I was getting a warmed over late 90's Escort (which I had at the time) with different interior and exterior. Little did I realize that the Focus would have wheel sizes similar to my e30 BMW! honeslty, this car handles jsut as good as my little bmw, and for thousands less!

needless to say, I'm very pleased with my purchase!

just thought I'd share

Most people who don't know the Focus assume it's a regular old plain-jane cheap commuter car. Heck, most people are unaware of the SVT model.

In my experience, there are those people write off the Focus completely and overlook it when searching for a new vehicle. And then there are the lucky ones test drive one and fall in love (thats exactly what happened to me).

Yah I think the feel of the focus is what got me....just feels so damn sturdy compared to most cars in its class...fun to mod and kind of an outcast in the modding world as well

Yes, they are great cars. Just ask Car & Driver, the Focus was on their 10 best cars list for five years in a row. I have a 2003 ZX3 Premium with a manual transmission and an SVT suspension kit, it feels like a sports car to me.

I was actually looking at several cars back in 2003. The funny thing is I NEVER actually test drove the Focus. I drove it a lot in Gran Tourismo though! I just exhausted my patience with all the other cars I was looking at. I ordered a ZX3 Power Premium with a 5-speed in the color I wanted and the rest is history.

Yes, I would definitely have to agree with Dirt brown on all accounts.

When I was looking I wanted a Subaru but couldn't afford one.
I looked at the Focus when I heard it was NOT the Escort under the new body.
I loved it. The only thing was the dealer never told me how to put it into reverse and the first time I needed reverse was .... well... interesting.

I still own the same one after 8 years. Still have fun with it and don't plan on getting rid of it.

when i got my SVT I actually missed the MTX-75 cause it has a real smooth feel too it...the Getrag can be a bit of a drag as far as driveability...but Ive learned to drive a bit diff and love the 6 speed
