Focus competitors in EU

Since you in United States drives only the best cars (which is normal because you make the best cars), here are Focus competitors in Europe :

Could you just say which of these cars are available in US and what you think about them.

You know VW Golf and Mazda 3

In croatia the Focus and Hyundai i30 are really cheap but they both have multi-link rear suspension (Focus has better) unlike Fiat,Citroen,Peugeot,Opel

i strongly disagree with your opening statement. most americans drive cars which are horribly uninteresting(SUVs, appliance cars, chevy cobalts, etc..). the only cars on your list that are sold in the US are the astra and hyundai(maybe the kia, i'm not too sure).

Put it this way: most Americans would RATHER drive European cars for the most part. IMO, European Fords are to die for. I would give anything to drive an RS Focus, an old Escort or Sierra Cossie, a Mondeo, Fiesta ST, etc.

Well you're right. When I said best cars I meant cars like Ford F-150,
Ford Taurus SHO,Ford Mustang.
Front wheel drive cars are better in Europe but I meant on Rear-wheel drive cars.
The thing is basic Mustang V6 costs around 22000 dollars (by ford official site) in US but in EU for that money all you can buy is basic Focus 1.6L 100hp.
Like you said, Fiat,Peugeot,Citroen are not available in US because they sucks. They would be OK if they are cheaper than focus but since they costs more than Focus they sucks.

This is for GhiaFan
For VW Golf and Mazda 3 I said that they already know all about them because they are popular in US.
Skoda Octavia is not HATCHBACK, it's made on VW Golf platform and is available only as sedan and wagon.
Honda Civic is upper compact car like BMW 1, Audi A3 but If you like you can put Civic into VW and Ford...

Well if youre into higher-powered RWD cars, the US trumps Europe. But if youre into high-powered, good handling, well-built, AWD, turbo beasts (like I am), the Europe is Heaven on Earth.

Ahh did not know it was only hatchs you were talking about.

So in Croatia you place the Civic with BMW 1 and Audi 3, really?
You make it sound like the Focus in Croatia is a bottom tier car?

I'd take a Focus Titanium or ST anyday before the spacey high reving overpriced$$ Civic.

Me too. I would also take any Focus before any Civic.

Civic limousine is very ugly inside and outside is looks kind - well it's ugly.
My uncle has one, 2007 1.8L civic sedan. It's OK but I would take Mondeo instead.
And the hatchback is awful and expensive.
It's with BMW 1 and AUDI A3 because basic Civic (1.8L) hatchback costs around 26000 Euros. And basic Focus (1.4L) costs 14500 Euros. Price is for Croatian market.

And for bigjordan : the M3 is the best 8500 rpm manual.
Imagine how it is to shift from 3rd to 4th gear on 8500 rpm. HEAVEN...
