2010 Ford Fusion 4 cylinder M6...

So I was playing around on Ford's site, building various vehicles for fun. It seems, at least according to their site, that you can't build a 4 cylinder, 6 manual Fusion, with leather interior. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

I just tried the Ford configator. Selected 'SE' , 2.5/manual trans, Sun&Sync package. Didn't offer a 'leather' interior selection option. Apparently, you have to get the SEL to get the leather, and the SEL isn't offered with the stick. I'll bet that if you were a big Ford mucky-muck, you could build one though........

Yeah, that's the problem I had... Total crap. They really should offer the M6 in the sport with AWD, that would be a sick car! Better yet, put that new 3.7L V6 that's going into the mustang in the Fusion Sport AWD M6. 315hp...

Correct, no factory leather option with the SE and a 6 speed manual. Same issue I ran into with my 08.

Complete garbage, why is Ford so dumb sometimes? There really isn't a reason for them to offer the 6 speed manual with a V6 either...

It's all about production numbers, what sells vs what they feel won't. Most all car companies do it. For example, Subaru dropped the Legacy GT wagon bodystyle (in the states) in 2007 and you would have thought they killed every Legacy GT wagon owner's first born. Bottom line is that that particular combo didn't sell for here and it simply was too costly for them to keep that model in their production lineup.

Would I like the 6 in the new Fusion with a 6 speed manual ? Absolutely, but seeing that Mazda dropped the manual option with the new 6, I don't see it happening. It's all about the sales numbers, sad to say.

In regards to leather, there are a couple of good qualify aftermarket leather options, so you could still get your SE with the stick, simply add leather after the fact. Personally the lack of leather wasn't that big a deal, and it wasn't going to be a deal breaker, but I do understand your frustrations.

I agree, just wonder why they wouldn't offer it with the Sport? They lose a lot of young buyers to Jettas, and Subarus, even Nissan Altimas because you can't get a Fusion sport model with a stick.

Oh I agree, I wish they'd offer it in some sort of package/combo.

Subaru went the other direction this year - want a 2010 Legacy GT? Stick only, no auto option as in the past (which actually sold well). We'll see how this works out for them..lol

So true. But is it possible to special order one from the factory? Not the V6 but the 4 banger with the 6spd, with leather/sync/etc. I think it may be worth looking into though it may take something like 5 months to get it.
