Ha! I knew that I wasnt the only one. Well I can get a new car, if I get my wife a BMW first. But I cant afford two new cars so I wont be getting one for a while. I just plan on putting a new engine in my car so it will be like a new car. Atleast thats what I keep telling myself.

i would suggest that you keep up with the basics. like oil changes, tune ups, stuff like that. if you take care of it, it will work for a long time. Im at 137,000 miles. I have made several trips from texas to cali and back and it has done great. Its starting to run a little off but i just need to take it in a have them take a look. So basicly keep up with the basics.

73k isn't that much. Keep up the maintenance and you'll be good to go for awhile.

But....your wife told you that you can't get a car? It wasn't a mutual desicion? ....That would never fly in my house.

trust me a ford focus is a perfect car to own!
Buy an extended warranty from Ford if you want or just put aside the money you would pay for a warranty JIC you need a major repair.

agreed, keep up with basics, the better the car is maintained and serviced, the better the life expectancy, and do not drive it hard often
