how much does a timing belt cost?

I think the timing belt just went on my 03 peice of crap focus. anyone know what it cost to have one replaced?

If you have to ask how hard it is to do, then it may not be a job for you. Why do you consider it a POC?? These are great little cars and I am proud to own mine.

Shouldn't be, both the Zetec and Split-port engines are non-interference.

Nope, only the SVT and Duratec engines are interference engines.

SPI is interferance and will chuck a valve when the belt goes (most of the time).

No, it's a non-interference engine. The valve seat problem has nothing to do with the timing belt.
