Hello Everyone. New SVT Owner!

Hi, id like to formally introduce myself!!!

My name is Joe, and i hail from Colchester, CT. I am currently studying theology in new hampshire at a benedictine school. I have just purchased a 02 SVT and i am very happy with it. This is also my first stick shift!!! It has 87k and i was wondering if there was anything prone to failing on this car that i should replace...

Ive only had the car for two days and already the horn and headlights have failed...

Welcome to Focus Fanatics, it's a great forum; people are friendly and you get promp responses
Check to see if all the TSB's (technical service bullitens - like recalls) were done on your car, since it's the first-year SVT

Welcome to FF! Let the addiction being LOL.

Timing belt should be done before 100k, but since the engine is interference, its good measure to go ahead and take care of that since your at 87k.

Congrats on your purchase. I'd check the fuses on the headlights and horn, probably a simple fix.

and check the service bulletins like michSVT said. And also check out the SVT performance chat stickied threads.

You got the carfax right? lolz!

Welcome!!! Glad you went with the SVTf!

I would say keep an eye on the timing belt and clutch. Brakes too. Tires if their the same ones as it came with.

I however have 111K miles on my SVTf and as far as I am aware, the timing belt has not been done. I know I need to do it but I have noooo money and owe the cops $445.

My brakes needed to be done and my tires were GONE!

I bought mine with 91K on it though, and it was very well taken care of.
