2008-2009 Ford Focus Mods

Hey guys...I'm new to the site so don't try to bash me too hard for posting this if there is a previous one started but I was looking for some advice on the 08-09 Focus as far as some mods to the engine, body...you know all the good stuff that the earlier models have. I've had a hard time finding items for it and I'm not sure if it's because it's new or what the deal is....any help is appreciated because the guys on Yahoo! Answers are zero help

my best advice is to not rush into things, because new things are constantly coming out for the 08-09. in a few months, you may see something that you like more than what you already bought and regret it. engine mods would be a good place to start i.e. exhaust. intake.

First, welcome to Focus Fanatics

Second, check out the stickies at the top of the Duratec Performance Chat forum. In order to not get bashed by the members that have been around for a bit, look first, search second, if can't find in search - ask third.

i know there is a list that is kinda out dated around here somewhere.....

but I have:

Engine/exhaust:

2.5" truebendz stainless steel magnaflow catback - $350ish + shipping
steeda sri - $240ish new, got mine used for $150
grounded throttle body - like 3 bucks...

suspensionish:

steeda 21 mm rear sway bar w/ the brackets welded on instead of using c-clamps - $180ish + shipping from CFM
focus sport strut tower brace - $120ish also through cfm
cfm rear engine mount w/ race bushings and cfm short throw shifter - combo deal that was like $245+shipping...

the prices are estimated and might include tax and shipping...., i cant remember exactly what the cost was.... i like cfm because they offer other brands and i live in florida so i save on shipping....

now there are some new things that came out like(off the top of my head)

focus sport cold air intake
massive strut bars
eibach makes swaybars
suspension is everywhere
steeda has short throw shifter
focus sport also came out w/ a engine cover
there are some angel eye headlights
there are some body kits, rkspor, 3d carbon, and a cople others, but i think they are way overprices, considering the 3d carbon is a body lip and sells for $1000.....
you could always doe rims and tires...
you could lower your car, there are a few options out there as well.....

I did note that some places are offering crazy expensive body kits and I have found a few intakes as well. I'll go ahead and check out those threads to see what they have to say, it's just the 08-09 to me is a nice model even the lower end SE that I have and I just wanted to gear it out a bit knowing that Focus's are getting more rep for moding out

Here's a good starting place, thanks to DZ and a bunch of the FF folk: 2008(+) Focus Crew: All the info you will ever need...

Another good starting point is to search for Brad White's threads on the extensive mods he's done to his Ride of the Year '08.
