lube tech rant

ok so i work at a subie dealer and we also used to be suzuki.
well my mom who has horrible credit got a 2006 suzuki forenza back in 06 or something idk.
well i took it into work while we were still a suzuki dealer also and had a 60k on it,
she hardly ever changed the oil.
our lube tech guy who is known for breaking everything
stripped the god damn drain plug.
and replaced it with a g bolt.
WTF!

and not to mention he tightened it down soooo hard he broke the crush ring in half. yes in half!

me trying to help my mom out who dirves about 130 miles a day. gets all the parts from auto zone. and i get under there and am like wtf.

the head on the bolt is like f'ed up.

so im trying to get it loose but i cant, so i come in and tell me mom and she gets pissed off at me because i wouldnt take it to a normal place yesterday and get it changed for 19.99 with a coupon.

but she doesnt haev the coupon.
last time she didnt have a coupon and they charged her 27 dollars.
so i said "how do you expect to get a 19.99 oil change with coupon but not have the coupon? thats what you did last time and they cahrge you 27 bucks"
and she flips out and goes g psyhco.

i was told to pack all my shit and leave.

maybe have your mom change the oil herself and get all dirty.... lol....

sounds like the "lube tech" tightend the bolt with an air wrench and striped the head...

sorry that you mom got pissed and made you leave....

GL with everything

Wtf ... a bolt, who does that ? So if you work at the dealer, and the guy was known for breaking shit, why didn't you just do it yourself and use their lift ?

My thoughts too. If he's know for being a hack...A. why is he still employed there and B. why'd you have him work on your Mom's car to begin with?

Do you work for Teape's ?

I know the feeling of what you are going through. But my mom does it with her laptop! She expects her laptop to run like the day it did out of the box. And I have told her time and time again that I need to format the computer. And she won't let me do it, and I finally told her to deal with it.

I feel your pain man, all too well. I used to work for a ford dealership and it's AMAZING how many of you friends and family suddenly have car troubles. That's JUST what I wanted to do after 10-12 hours of flat-rate bs work was come home and do it more for people who want it done cheap or free. I'd tell people they buy the parts and I'll charge 20% of the standard labor rate and they STILL had the audacity to bitch. I didn't pay 23 thousand dollars for my education to give it away free. It got so bad that I stopped doing it altogether. I just tell them that I'm no longer ASE certified and any work I did couln't be warranted and I won't take the liability.

And it just occurs to me, even if your mom did have the $19.99 coupon and went to the shop, that deal would be righ tout the window when they saw what they were dealing with as far as the stripped-bolt "drainplug."

Anyway it'll all work out man. You just gotta believe and press on through the crap.
