Give me your used Focus checklist

Every car has it's special 'quirks' that need attention at some point. I'm shopping Foci right now; 2003 and up models (but not second gen).

General used car stuff I know just fine; I'm looking for Focus specific stuff I should look out for when I'm inspecting and driving these cars. Thanks!

Not necessarily; for instance, my Saturn SC2 had a radiator that had plastic mounts on either side; after 8 years or so the plastic becomes brittle enough to crack and thus you need to replace the radiator. So things like that, unique to that car... so I'm looking for 'check the hatch struts because they like to go out on Focuses' and stuff like that.

I know that your saying but for all I know there is really nothing that the 03-present Foci are known for. They really are nice dependable fun little cars. Like most cars if you do regular maintenance and treat it right they will give you years of enjoyment.

Unless I'm mistaken I believe the SPI engine was in some SE's and all LX's through 2004. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
