Ford Launches PowerShift Dual-Clutch Transmission in Europe

Following the lead of manufacturers like Volkswagen and Mitsubishi, Ford has launched a dual-clutch automated transmission of its own. The six-speed transmission offers both fully-automatic and manual shifting modes, but uses two real clutches instead of the torque converter of a traditional automatic. That would be a bit of alright if made and available over here. Might have gotten a V6 Fusion if that trans had been available in it. Definitely would have gone for one if a manual trans came with the V6!

Well I've seen them being used in the VeeDub touring cars because in manual mode they are supposedly faster than the conventional manual cars.

they have them in the Evo and the R35 Nissan ... its one of those things people either hate it or love it no grey area.

seen a few reviews of the evo saying it helped out on the track but the manual was better on the drag strip. but i dont think they were using the launch control that isnt widely advertised.

If its as good as the DSG from VW, it would make the car faster, as it shifts in milliseconds...
