Angry Ohhh the frustration! RANT.

So I just bought a 2004 silver ZTS. Literally, just bought it on Saturday.

I test drove it first of course, and even drove it from one lot to another where I made the final purchase. It was about a 15 minute drive, and everything about the car was flawless; it drove like a dream.

It was a toasty Saturday afternoon, and I was on my way home from the dealership, enjoying the sweet, sweet air conditioning (after 2 years of driving a motorcycle, it was like Christmas) when disaster struck. Coming up to a left turn, I shifted into neutral so that I could lightly coast to a stop at the red light and wait for the green. It ended up turning green before I got there. That was fine--or so I thought; I could just shift into second and make the turn, no problem.

Yeah... it didn't shift. The clutch only pushed in about 3/4 as far as it had done so all day, and I couldn't put it into gear. I was kind of freaking out because there was traffic coming from both directions, and I was moving towards a green light with no way to get myself moving any faster, so I pushed the clutch harder than I probably should have.

So something snaps, right there in the middle of the Greenway and 7th ave turn lane, and starts spraying fluids all over my left foot while I coast, excruciatingly slowly, around the corner and pull to the curb. Luckily there was no traffic coming when I finally made it through the turn.

Long(er) story short, I gave it back to the dealership, who couldn't get it towed into the shop until Monday. Now it's Tuesday, I haven't heard from the shop, and I want my car back. D:

O: Easy fix?

I'm not a car guru, but I figured if it wasn't the tranny, it can't be THAT difficult to repair...

Its easy to get to, yes, but bleeding the system is a PITA. Then there is the clean up of the hydraulic fluid.

I suspect the stealership had a 30 day warranty or something similar considering it went out the DAY you bought it...

Did the clutch feel good and graby before it went out? How many miles are on the car?

30 minute swap. Pretty common problem.

Yeah, I'm told they are covering all the repair costs and towing fees, so that's good I guess. Google Maps says I made it 2.4 miles from the dealership x.x

The clutch felt fine to me on the way back to the other lot, and up until the left turn where it broke. I'm no expert (read: motorcycle), but I've driven stick shifts in the past, so I'd know if anything was out of the ordinary at least. It's got 70xxx miles on it, vehicle history report was super clean.

Yeah pretty much everyone has gone through a clutch master cylinder around here...don't worry about it buddy and be glad it happened when the dealership will still take care of it

So I called the shop Tuesday afternoon to get a status update on the fofo. The mechanic said exactly what you guys are saying, that the master cylinder was shot.

So he says, "Yeah we replaced the master cylinder, got in and pumped the clutch a few times and blew the slave cylinder in the tranny." (his words verbatim). "The dealer's gonna cover that too. You should have your car by end of day tomorrow."

It's Thursday, still no car. >.< Why have I had this car for almost 6 days and have driven it less than an hour all together?
