Escort VCT help--which forum?

I'm doing some research for my neighbor.

She has a 99 escort on which the timing belt broke, I figured that it would have had a 2.0 zetec like my 2K Focus, but I was wrong of course.

The important bit is that while I know the zetec is a non-interference, this VCT motor I have no idea about & It's either scrap it or replace the timing belt.

Can someone point me toward an Escort forum where I can find out if the VCT motor is an Interference or NON-Interference type engine.

Thanks

I'm going to have to say it's non up to a certain RPM. If the cam where full advance when the belt broke (over aprox. 4,500RPM) then there is a good bet she bent a valve or 16. Under that it might be alright.

I'd say the damage has already been done and toss a new belt on and see what happens. If it's noisy as hell, well you know what's next.
