facory AM/FM/CD...

I have replaced the factory head unit with a JVC cd/mp3/wma/aac/ipod/usb head unit... in the changing there were the two plugs that i expected the speaker connector, the power supply connector, and there was a 3rd connector with a single conductor.

what is this single conductor?

thanks for any help.

maybe i should clarify, the 3rd connector extended from the vehicles loom, not the after market head unit. it was plugged (I think) in-between the power supply and the speakers.

I don't think i have a factory amp. its a pretty basic trim level. Where would they stick it if i were to have one?

If you had the audiophile 6 disc your should have one. Do you have a stock sub? The amp is located on top of the sub box. little silver amp just chillin'.

oh, sorry. I'm out of ideas. I guess you could just hook up the new one and see if it works without it?

The 3rd single wire connector is the connection with the vehicle speed sensor. If you remove it you'd lose the AVC function of the factory radio. For most aftermarket radios it's not needed and just let it dangle.
