Ordered from k2motor....

So i ordered some fog lights last night and paid and everything. It said it was going to be 4-7 business days, i was like okay cool. Well I just got an e-mail from someone at k2motor and they said that it is out of stock and on back order???

I told them that that was fine and to go ahead and send them to me when they get them. I told them that it better not be like a month or a bunch of crap like that.

I really just dont know why they didnt post that on the websie?

Anyways just felt like sharing.

That sucks, are they giving you any discount or anything because of it? That's a major inconvenience, you should be entitled to one. Next time you talk to them (if you do) you should ask for one.

You shouldn't hold it against them, being a professional web designer I can say from experience that all web systems don't work completely perfect 100% of the time. What could have happened is an incorrect inventory count on the item, which would be their fault; a database could be lagging in updating itself, which isn't their fault; or something similar like that.

In my opinion ask for a discount or something, the website said it would take 4-7 business days and that it was in stock. It is an inconvenience to you that the item count did not update on the website, and now you have to wait possibly longer than 4-7 business days due to their system error.

Just my two cents :)

That's a good couple of cents, there, Reparation.

In my web experience (both designer and user), I find that not all designers or programming tools integrate their inventory databases with their ordering systems in real time. It takes a little bit more coding, but is so much more customer friendly, if the programmer calls for a short advisory message about back-order status and how long it typically takes the supplier to deliver...but to do this, they have to build a "resupply time" tracking average function into their inventory database. Not hard at all, but not every programmer thinks to do it.

On the other hand, not all brick and mortar retailers have a very good understanding of how long it really takes their suppliers to deliver the goods, either!

My experience with K2M is that They NEVER update Their Website, and Nobody at K2 can count, because They are almost always on back order. I say get Your money refunded and spend a little extra and get Your lights from another source, and preferably not the K2 brand. I suppose it wouldn't be a problem so much with fogs, but IMO, as good as Their headlights may look, they are crap. European-parts dot net is a little slow sometimes, but the parts You get are top quality.

Since I'm still rather new to the modding scene I can't vouch that their parts are crap and aren't going to work, but I would say look around and see if you can find another place that has ones that you might be interested in, and if more people can vouch that they won't work just tell them you don't want their business and get a refund. After you asked they agreed to give you a discount, right? If they didn't that's just plain ridiculous.

I asked for the discount and have yet to hear back from them. They said i can either cancel the order or get something else. I have been waiting to get foglights for months
