RANT: Closed

EDIT: This thread needs to be locked by any mods that see this.

The thread is closed because it was obviously a stupid decision that needs no rant.

I agree that he was probably not on his way to a call or he wouldn't have pulled you over in the first place. With that being said cops are people too, the only difference is they get to take their bad days out and you and I. Also I've heard that cops are supposed to drive a little over the limit, not as much as you said, so they don't "intimidate" regular traffic.

yeah... i agree with all of that... and I'll say too that it was a stupid call to do what I did, I just was not cool with him doubling the speed limit with no lights... that's dangerous no?

Oh it's definately unsafe, his excuse would be "I was trying to not alert the people who were called on that I was getting close". Cops always have a loophole out of their actions for the most part.

If that ever happens again say " I was following the flow of traffic sir, I didn't realize you were speeding "

yeahh it's so true, and it's sad because I've never had any problems with cops before this. They've always treated me with respect. And I would love to have spoke my mind... but the situation i was in, just didn't allow it...

My last run in with a cop I was on my way to work with basically enough time to get there and on the way out of my subdivision and there's a business on the left hand side and a storage facility on the right. Well once I'm past all of the houses I start to step into it and BAM cop sitting there in the businesses parking lot. I pull over immediately and he pulls up behind me and asks me if I knew why he pulled me over. I said yes, I was going about 40 in a 25. He said yeah I was doing 38 and asked my why I was going so fast. I told him I had 10 minutes to get to work (luckily I didn't forget my badge to get in that day so I had it on) he went back and ran my license and let me go with a warning.

Sounds like your cop was just having a bad day. Think of it this way, it could definately have been worse for you.

you probably should have sucker punched him right off the bat to set the tone, and really show him who's boss lol... the best thing is usually to just tell the truth, and be respectful... the thing they hate the most is when people try to insult their intelligence. Sounds like you handled it about as well as you could've

Whew, thankfully he didn't give you a ticket! But I'd be carefull around town for awhile. (It's not like we can just blend into the crowd with a yellow car.lol) I've only been pulled over by a statie twice. Once for tint and once for major speeding on the freeway. I think your pretty lucky.
