Ford Mustang Poised To Enter NASCAR for First Time, Automaker Says

The Ford Mustang will make its debut as part of NASCAR's new-car limited rollout in the 2010 Nationwide Series, Ford said. It's part of a push by NASCAR to burnish the brand image of the Nationwide Series and inject more showroom models into the mix.

Yeah, someone did a what if render when the announcement was made on a Sim Racing forum I'm part of. It looks awesome on the new proposed body style for the Nationwide series. The plan is for the Mustang, Camaro, and Charger to be run in the Nationwide series, who knows what Toyota will run. They dont have a V8 sports car, or V6 for that matter with the death of the Supra.

Its not another series, the Nationwide series has been around for 25+ years. Just under a different name.

HA, I could see all of the non-Toyota teams now complaining that they have an advantage.

I know what it is. It's the old Busch Series which was once called the Busch Grand National Series which used to be the Sportsman Division and it's becoming another NASCAR spec series just like the Sprint Cup.

I can tell you this, the Nationwide COT will be nothing like the Sprint Cup COT. Pretty much every cup driver that has been involved in the testing has said they wish that the Nationwide COT was what they were driving in the Cup series.
