unfortunately chances are slim, ford is already bringing back the new pimped out mustang, they don't need two good sports cars. we'll likely see un upgraded focus, but i'm seriously doubting a turbo awd.

I have said it many times. Ford will not make a direct competitor for the mustang.

Mitsubishi has no sports car in the stang class, so the evo is their sports flagship.

Subaru has the WRX and the STi is just an upgraded WRX. They have no other sports cars so the WRX's are their sole performance car.

Dodge, until the SRT-4 the only real performance car was the viper. Since they are very different in price and class they can make an SRT-4.

Ford, ooops they make V8 mustangs in both GT and Cobra models, cars that none of the above manufacturers produce in price or class, the GT specifically. Why would ford make a turbo focus for $ 22-25k? Just to compete with the SRT-4? I think not. How about an AWD turbo focus to compete with the evo and STi, they wouldn't make any money on the cars. By the time they did R&D, retooling etc it wouldn't benefit them.

Also the enthusiast group ford caters to are the V8 crowd, not the import *** crowd. Sorry to say it but there is no money for them to get into the import/sport compact scene now.

Now if they offered a Cosworth edition focus that was turbo with 260+ hp and AWD for $ 30k then that would be badass. Anything less is selling out the WRC heritage of the focus. The SVT is a joke and never should have been produced IMHO.

The next Focus platform will be able to accept an AWD setup. But if we do get AWD it will not be teamed with a high output motor, kinda like the Toyota Matrix.

An AWD focus without 300 hp is worthless.

Since we all know there is plenty of room for improvement with aftermarket parts, I would be happy with a turbocharged 250hp AWD Focus.
