Question Rear Bumper

I have some minor rust below the hatch where the bumper cover has rubbed through the paint and exposed bare metal. Fixing the rust would be no big deal except that I need to remove the bumper cover to do it right.
So the question is, how difficult/painful is it to remove the bumper cover?

I fixed that same problem on my car without removing the bumper cover......you risk scratches if you remove it. Here's what I did.

I'm going to have to give that a shot. I'll have to trim the plastic anyway, or it will just rub through my touch-up paint.

I also have a spot at the bottom of the front fender behind the wheel where rocks must have dinged the paint. My car only has 90k on it, and 5 years old is pretty early to be dealing with rust nowadays...
