does this sound like a hook up?

im working on painting my dads focus. he was to the point he wanted to sell it because it goes through tires like they are a tank of gas. and the fact the driver door handle broke, exhaust heat shield is dragging the ground, oh and the list goes on. once he saw it being painted, and the fact he was able to open the drivers door again (been a long time), he is falling in love with it.

so with that, he wants more power. for one, under hood temps are ridiculous. to the point that the power steering line is overheating, plastic coolant piece (above radiator) kept cracking (replaced with copper tube), and thermostat housing keeps warping. the header is putting off far more heat then i ever expected. so the hunt for a header was on (and ceramic coat it). well my dad made a trip to the place where we got the focus, which only deals with fords. they had a vast supply of foci. they normally would not part out svt parts though (they had several of them as race cars).

how did it go? plenty of parts were picked up, but he told me he got the svt header for $100 and $100 for the exhaust. but once i got to talk to him, he said the exhaust looked newer and had polished parts on it. then the guy was like, well you will be happy knowing thats a magnaflow exhaust. $200 for the header and magnaflow exhaust i would say is a good deal. but i wont know if he got the cat (maybe orb?) and flex pipe till he gets here. my uncle said everything was there, but still doesnt sound like those two pieces are. so have to wait and see.

Even without the cat and flex, I'd say that's a pretty smoking deal.

damn...thats a helluva deal! but just a heads up...that svt header wont be just a easy bolt on. some modification is needed for it to work on a regular focus.

oh yeah, i know. i forgot about the dipstick, but i think i can make do by modifying the bracket. also know the egr wont hook up, which is fine because i think the egr tube is seized.

but flex and cat are missing. so im searching for those. if anyone has them for sale, let me know!
