Chrysler-Fiat Finalize Accord

Fiat (FIA.MI) completed its purchase of Chrysler assets on June 10, just hours after the U.S. Supreme Court denied a hearing to pension funds objecting to the White House-assisted reorganization of Chrysler that transfers management control of the troubled Detroit icon to the Italian automaker. The deal clears the way for the newly constituted Chrysler to emerge quickly from Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Why not? They already tossed Plymouth years ago. Look at the Chrysler lineup of vehicles, they are stale, boring vehicles like the PT Cruiser, or a Chryslerized version of a product sold as a Dodge, like the Town and Country, Aspen, and Sebring.

These are strange times to be an auto enthusiast, though.

After all this.....in maybe two years you'll be seeing re-badged Fiats with a Chrysler logo in this country. And they'll expect you to buy the things......knowing that Fiat is maybe the worst European automobile.

I just hope the USA taxpayer doesn't get gouged any more by this company. Good riddance....I give the whole company another three years max.

There are still many Chrysler vehicles that should live on. Viper, Ram, 300C, Wrangler to name a few. Granted them make not the best of cars, but some of them are good and honestly the Dodge EV roadster is down right awesome. If you don't know about it, its chassie and suspension is done by lotus and the car is fully electric.

BTW, I still love hearing people say, Why not just chuck chrysler. Honestly if you were one of the millions of employees you wouldn't be saying the same thing. Does everyone just think about the higher ups or something? I feel like no one is thinking about the hard working middle class employees and the towns and citys the Big Three basically supports almost 100%.......some people should feel ashamed imo.

Anyway, lets hope that this deal works out and we have some awesome Italian cars over here in the states that everyone can buy. I think the real challenge is having two companies with the worst JD Power quality ratings make something of themselves lol.

The reality is Chrysler (the brand) is probably going away. A lot of brands are. But I guess you are referring to Chrysler, the entity. As to whether or not the whole company goes away, I guess time will tell.

I meant Chrysler the brand. Plymouth the brand isn't quite the same as Chrysler. Chrysler is just Chrysler and that's just what it is.. I can't really explain it.

But just looked at the Fiat site.. Those little cars kind of look all bland..
I think I only like the Nuovo Doblo, that weird van wagon looking thing

^^^ Fiat did make funny cars, kinda like the gran turismo game.... since when did a older 2 cylinder fiat 500 is a car worth driving other than for pleasure and not just racing.... I also question that.

Another thing is now that fiat bought chrysler would come of the current models phase out or would it be just the same but more models?
