Need a Focus hitch? Ridiculous deal . . . .

OK, this sounds like it could be too good to be true, but mebbe it's completely legit.
Today I was searching around on the internet for info on a hitch for my '07 Wagon. I came across a site that has Putnam hitches for hatchbacks for $43 and for wagons for $41.
I promise I don't benefit from this, other than the satisfaction of helping my fellow Focus fans.

ctrl + f, type "focus" and you should find them.

with shipping it will be less than $60.
They shipped it today and I'm supposed to have it next Wednesday.

I just saw this post. I have been looking for a hitch for my 2004 Sedan for months now but didn't want to pay $140-$160 for one. I saw a guy on craigslist near me with a new Reese hitch for sale and called him and settled on $75.

If I would have seen this earlier, I would have jumped on it. Please let us know how they fit when you get them.

I believe the Focus is rated for 100 lb tongue weight and 1000 lbs max. I am looking to pull a small canoe type boat and occassionally a small cargo trailer with a dirtbike, push mower, lumber, etc. The focus is more than capable of towing a light trailer and cargo if you don't exceed the 1000 lb mark.

Honestly, I believe it would pull 1500 lbs without hurting it at all. Stopping is usually the limiting factor. Foci brakes are not up to the task of stopping the car and a heavy trailer/cargo. As long as you use your head pulling a 700lb combined jetski/trailer, small jonboat/motor, motorcycle, etc shouldn't be a problem at all.

The US is probably the only country in the world where everybody believes you need a suburban or a dually to pull around a few hundred pounds of trailer and cargo.

This is only a slight exaggeration. Our friends to the North, the Canadians, buy one size smaller car, Corolla vs. Camry... and then buy a roof rack. Ingenious.

Here in VA Beach, we can always spot the Canadian tourist: small car with a roof rack. The American tourist: Large SUV or Megavan stuffed to the gills with jetsam and flotsam.

In Europe, it's routine to see a small hatchback towing a small trailer... and most of those hatchbacks have nothing near the smallest Focus engine. 2 Liter: HUGE!

Talking

Though, speaking as a Canadian we also have those <insert choice word here> people who seem to feel that the size of their manhood is directly proportional to the unused towing capacity of their vehicle.

(also known as mouse &ick on elephant syndrome!)
