And finally... the moment I've beeen waiting for... I picked up my focus today

So my SES coupe came in finally on Thursday, and I picked it up today. It is a DREAM to drive this thing. I put about 80 miles on it in a few hours driving around to different friends' houses and giving them rides for the hell of it- this car has been much anticipated.

Shes fully loaded with the ABS/TC, Moon roof/audiophile system w subwoofer, and heated leather seats. All of them kick ass. I can't keep the radio quiet in the car. It came with a free 6 month sirius subscription too so that's another plus.

The first thing I noticed as I pulled out of the lot was that I needed to change gears ALREADY and the second thing was that this car really loves to speed. I like that the dash has a shift up light to help with just regular driving for max fuel efficiency... but it tells me I should shift up to 5th at 40mph. Makes for a lot of shifting in my suburban town being the speed limits are 35 everywhere.

I really have no complaints at all about the car though. Amazing looking (everything being blacked matches the black color perfectly- and it looks even better in person than on the pictures online), fun to drive, and full of amenities and bells and whistles like sync and that awesome stereo system...

all those snobby people who ragged on the 09 were morons.

This is my first manual car... and I'm just having a bit of trouble with starting on hills when people are up on my ass at a stop light (afraid of rolling into them)... but other than that, i am having so much fun.

remember when rolling back, it feels like you roll back 6 feet but if you get out of the car and look, its not even 6 inches :) im glad you like the new focus. the ONLY complaint i have so far is i wish the cruise controls and hteaudio controls on the steering wheel were swapped. if i want to go up a few songs on my ipod, its hard to do while shifting. if they were swapped this would be much easier and still safe. oh yea and listen to the light! i gets you some AMAZING mileage if u do!!

Welcome! Enjoy the new whip!

Me being from florida and a total lack of hills, but if I ever stop on a bridge or overpass, i pull the e-brake so that my right foot doesn't have to cover the brake as well as give it gas when starting off again. As you release the clutch and it grabs, slowly release the brake, takes some practice.

I'm surprised I'm the first to post this. Where are the pictures?!?!?

Glad you like the car. What's first on the mod list?

I'll get some pictures soon, but I lack a camera at the moment.

I wanted to put on a STS, a CAI, an exhaust, and the eibach pro kit... but my dad bought me the extended warranty for the entire car (the car was sort of a college grad present) and I'm nervous about voiding it. I think I want to wait a while to make sure no factory defects are present before I change anything... just in case my dealer wants to be jerks

Congrats on the new ride.

I've had my 09 SES sedan for about a month now and I'm loving it.

Mine has SYNC, moonroof, tint and the Audiophile system.

Good Idea on waiting a bit. The Exhaust won't void any warranties so if you want you can go ahead and get that. My recommendation is Focus Sports Stealth Exhaust, although that might be the only one available for the 09s lol. Idk about an sts though, steeda might make one, check into that. Get the CAI from FS also. Congrats

you'll get use to the manual and hills, then you will intentionally let it roll back when some one is up on your back end to scare them, loads of fun.
