Chopping Antennae?

i have noticed in several pics that people have chopped their antennaes off shorter, will this affect the reception of stations much? thanks.

You can get a nice billet antenna on Clearance from Central Florida Motorsports (c-f-m)in either silver, red or blue shipped for under $15.... check out my focus in my gallery - I had it painted to match my car color....

I outright removed My entire antenna, and still have quite good reception. It did have a little effect, but not enough to bother Me.

I never heard of chopping them...I have one of those billet short ones and my radio reception sucks. Good thing I don't listen to it! I like my own music and they speak too fast on the radio for me to really understand them anyway...

Wow never thought of that. lol.

But I've chopped mine and didn't notice a different in reception. Its quite easy and looks a lot better IMO.

haha i chopped mine this morning...i must say something so minor makes an amazing difference...Nowot doesnt look like im fishing for birds while im driving



i did get a spare for trips and stuff incase i wanna listen to the radio

Mine does affect resception, but not much. I went with a chopped antenea instead of those billet ones becuase I dont think they look very good. I like how the shortened stock antenea keeps it looking clean.

I chopped mine way too short. Lost a significant amount of reception. Doesn't really matter to me. I am Sirius only.
