Failed DIY

College has been out for awhile and today I was bored as hell. So I got the idea to Smoke my taillights(sedan) like most people. I went looking for some VHT Nightshade, but came up bust. Still wanting to smoke them, I went and picked up some window tint at Autozone. I bought the really cheap one, like $15 bucks. When I got back I took off my taillight to apply the tint. Next I cut the tint to the size that I wanted. Then with my girlfriends hairdryer I "tried" to get all the ripples out, but then after I found out that a hairdryer doesn't get hot enough for the job. Pissed off after the first try I ran down to wal-mart to pick up a Heat Gun. I tired it again and it started to get the ripples out. Then got to one part in the taillight that I couldn't get the ripples out. Ended up burning a hole in the tint in that spot . I ripped the tint off to try again, but found out that I melted my taillight. I was like "F" this and returned the heat gun and tint. They didn't even check the tint to see if it was cut lol. If your in San Antonio and looking for tint check before you buy. Since this was a failed DIY and I ended up with a melted taillight and pissed. Well at least it gives me an excuse to buy the taillights I wanted. Just still bored.

Well thinner tint can be applied much easier than thicker. I'll assume you tried to use something like 5% vs a 50% that should have worked well. But even 50% is too dark IMO.
