Not all bad, I want my kids lungs to work properly & for them to have a clean environment to prosper in the future. Technology will adapt & finding creative ways of extracting power from the internal combustion is a + in my book. I'm all about performance vehicles and they mite suffer temporarily but on the other hand... Suck on this Trucks & SUV's

With Fiat acquiring Chrysler, their small cars will drastically improve Chrysler's fuel economy averages. And then the Gov. owns GM basically, so whatever the president wants, it will come through. Ford is close with all of their European cars they could easily bring over here. We shall see what happens.

I am all for electric vehicles, but the battery technology needs to improve drastically. Once the issue of how to store the electricity is solved, I'm all for a 50hp and 50wtq motor at all 4 corners. It will improve handling, acceleration, and it will have linear tq from 0rpms to 20,000rpms. Some day :-/

i dunno about this, i mean, its nice to have an average of all the vehicles to go up, butttttt, it shoud be a slower step. Only way w/ our cars right now to do this is to do a turbo'd direct injected motor for all larger dispacement vehicles, if we are to stay away from hybrids.

As Pogo used to say....."we have met the enemy, and he is us". We did it to ourselves with our decade-old love-affair with big engines and speed. This forum isn't much different.....most people here envy the turbo-Focus with it's hot-rod parts.

All along our love-affair could have been with economy, MPGs, practicality. Oh no....our "need for speed" finally got to us. Blame yourself......

^^ WHO CARES!!! WE'VE ONLY USED 1/5 OF THE WORLDS OIL SUPPLY IN THE PAST 200 YEARS!!!

By 2050, everything is going to be electric anyways, so why should we be worrying about it? Plus, WE are not destroying the environment. The Earth is going through it's natural cycle. Were warming up because the last major event was an Ice Age, and now were going to start moving into a meltdown. Why should we worry.... I mean really? With technology the way it is, There will be no problem keeping the human race alive, and we'll be long gone by the time anything bad happens....... unless of course the middle east goes REALLY Crazy and we have to Glass them....... then the world will just collapse..... and we'll all die............................ SO HAVE FUN WHILE YOU CAN!!!
