What Type Of Fuel Do You Use?

I've been doing a lot of things with the car lately and I'm trying to get more mileage out of it. I'm going to be changing over to copper plugs with the .060" gaps, just swapped in an mtx, take good care of my tires, don't use the AC much (it's Alaska).

Anyway, with a NA stock engine, what fuel do you get the best mileage from? I'm normally an 87 guy, but I'm trying out 91 or 93. And I hear that besides the octane level, the higher-rated gasolines are cleaner and of better quality. What fuel do folks get the best mileage from?

~Joe

I get the same no matter what I put in it.

Any grade of gas in my car = crappy mileage lol

I just wish my right foot didn't have lead in it lol.

The best gas mileage I've gotten was when I used 88 octane fuel. It's not sold in many places. It's the mid-grade fuel in southern Colorado. Both times I used it, I averaged 36 mpg, and that was mountain driving and running at highway speeds between 65 and 75 mph. My Focus also has an ATX.

I use 93, but I drive an SVT. You should use 87 because thats what the car was designed for. The higher the octane, the cooler it burns. You dont need to worry about that.

Either 95 or 97 Octane, usually 97.
