it would be hard to find them because not alot of people had had to replace a clutch in a newer foci.

hell i got an 01 with 135k and i am still on my stocker, lol

I've heard Clutch Masters are better, but that's on the SVT's though.

Only ever ran Spec stgII since 54K miles. Not one complaint here and I'm on my 2nd one and only reason I replaced the first is because my trans blew up and I replaced while it was out but with 30k miles on the first, it still had 50% of it's life left on it. I def recommend Spec. I can't say if they are better because I haven't ran anything else but I'm very pleased with mine.

I'm lookin at putting the same one in when I get my new engine. I put an exedy stage I in at about 70,000 and its already burning out at 92000. I work with a guy that works at a shop in Brunswick, Ohio called Big 3 Tuning. He said SPEC are the only clutches they touch

There is a thread going on at the Cougar forum and the Contour forum right now with a HUGE NUMBER of people whose SPEC clutches have failed in less than 20,000 miles. The springs in the disc break out and fall into the bellhousing, and eff everything up.

Before, it was the easy choice for anyone with an engine swap or F/I, but now nobody with a Duratec V6 will buy one. We've gone over to ClutchNet.

Here are some of the threads:

http://www.newcougar.org/forums/tran...stage-2-a.html

http://www.contour.org/ceg-vb/showthread.php?t=46027

Luckily I'm still running a 2.5L N/A, so I'm using the SVT Contour clutch.
