1987 Mustang build

Just thought I'd share with you guys what I shared with the mustang guys.
She's getting closer, below is what the car started out as. 2.3 liter4 banger.
Just got my stuff from the machine shop and I need a few more things before I can start putting it back together.

Are you going to run EFI? I saw the fuel rail and was wondering. Are those stock heads? You should really consider porting those, or getting after market. The stockers are sooo restrictive, kinda like the zetec head....

I also must recommend the POSI rear-end!!!

Cast iron heads - noooooooooo!!!!!

Aluminum heads are so cheap for 302's you should consider those. As far as cams go, that depends on the fuel delivery. The 87 OBD1 speed density system should be adaptable to anything you want to run, although you're going to have difficulty finding someone to program it. Check some Mustang Forums, but I do believe that Lincolns were SFI from day one, so if you can find a speed density Lincoln computer, wiring harness, and parts you can gain a little power by switching to that. Before going too wild with the cams you can use the 1.7 roller rockers for about $200 and that will give a good little boost as well. Roller cams, lifters, and rockers are easy to find, and very cheap.

Well I hope to have it running by June or so. Yes it will be fuel injected with 24lb injectors and it will have the traction lock rear end. The intakes are GT40E. The heads are GT40P heads with 1.6 roller rockers with a50 valve springs and b50 retainers. I know that aluminum heads are pretty cheap for the 302 but these heads were free, and thats even cheaper. The cam is the E-303 cam from Ford Racing. I'm doing a mass airflow conversion to handle the cam.

Thought I'd update my Mustang build. She should be running in about in 2 weeks!(would run much earlier but I dont have a lot of time to work on it) That primed area in the front of the car will be painted as well. My bodyshop guy will finish it up after I have it running.
